A danger to himself

and others.

Sometimes I wonder how in the hell Joe was able to feed himself for those years when he wasn't dependent upon someone else cooking for him. We all know about the time when Joe made pizza for the kids and forgot to put the cheese on? I didn't think it could get worse. But he did an even better one tonight.

I've been feeling awful all day. So instead of me cooking something healthy, I had Joe pull out some cans of Campbells Soup (I can't eat ANY of their soups...but I keep a few cans around for just this reason. I'm sick and they need food.) The kids refused to eat it, Joe ate it and thought "man that tastes salty", goes to put the last can away and realizes he forgot to add the can of water!

Only Joe would forget its condensed soup.

Danny couldn't make a box of macaroni & cheese when I got him. He'd dump all the contents into a pan, sans wrappers, boil, and wonder what went wrong.

I knew someone like that. Mac and Cheese is one of the things I can trust Joe to get right...he would live on the stuff (okay, he has lived on the stuff), if I'd let him. So would Ike.

I don't understand their mothers, how can they send their kids out into the world without knowing how to care for themselves? One of the women in my Stitching guild refuses to teach her sons how to cook, and then bitches that they are completely dependent on her for food. I don't get that.

Until he was 15, Danny's household had maids & a cook (lived with his wealthy grandparents). Then he moved in with his parents. His dad does NOT like anyone in his kitchen, and his mom cooks quite badly, I understand. Danny will also eat Halloween candy for breakfast every day until it's gone.

He makes delicious breakfast sandwiches lately! Necessity is the mother of cooking?

Hey, my mother taught me to cook! Open can, put contents in bowl, nuke, eat. Voila!

It's just been 15 years since I did Campbell's. I moved to Progresso before I met you.
