The Joy of a Bibliophile!

I haven't gotten much stitching done in the last week. A couple of months back I stumbled across a short story on the Baen web site that I thought was very good. Come to figure out...its a story in a series. An entire, completed series! I got my hands on the last 4 books (for some dumb ass reason, the first two aren't owned by San Jose Public) on wednesday and have been reveling in the joy of being able to read an entire story without having to wait a year or more between books! Woot!

So, if you like SciFi, I totally recommend the Belisarius series by Drake and Flint (or Flint and Drake...take your pick!). Its an alternate earth story...Early Byzantium get ahold of a being from future...changing histroy as we know it. I throughly enjoyed it...now to go pick up a needle.

Nope! I've heard of lots of things, but not everything...=)

WwwwwooooowwwwW. Shock & awe. Just shock & awe.

Wheel of Time---last book being finished posthumously right now. Nothing but love, even for the meandering.

Terry Goodkind---lynch on sight. First three books were MARVELOUS. Then it degraded into a socialist/communist rant and the plot was magicked away in the last book.

George R.R. Martin---I worship him but he's having a very hard time finishing book like six or whatever.
Even if he never finished the series, I'd buy it & reread what there was.

Kingdom of Born & Thorn---4 book series, already finished, very much enjoyed!

That way we're all caught up and I don't have to make fish faces.

Love George RR Martin...good stuff!

Joe knew about Wheel of time. Even played a video game based on it.

Terry Goodkind...know the name, haven't read anything yet...I'll keep that in mind.

I'm gonna go see if the library owns the Greg Keyes...sounds good!

I just can't believe you hadn't noticed the Wheel of Time these last like 12 years. Our used bookstores can't keep 'em in. I couldn't play the video game because I get motionsick. :(

GRRM! I wuv that man. He lives just north of us, and it's a good thing I'm not an obsessed stalker fan. I like to leave him little encouraging notes in his Not-A-Blog when the other fans are dogpiling on him for not finishing Dance.

I don't know that Greg Keyes' other work would appeal to me, but I loved The Briar King sssooo much. I may just read it again.
