Well the easy part is over.

Ike had his tonsils out this morning and is now asleep. Lots of crying and screaming (as much as someone who just had his tonsils removed can do) in the recovery. It took awhile to convince him to take the tylenol with codeine, but he finally did and is now sleeping.

Now to get through the next few days.

Hope he feels better soon. Was this scheduled?

Yes it was. He's been snoring for awhile and since I had mine out at 15 for sleep apnea, and both Joe and I wear CPAPs at night for sleep apnea, the ENT felt it was a good idea to take his tonsils so he can sleep better.

I get to do this at least once more! One of the girls snores and she even stops breathing. Joy!

My sympathies. I had my own tonsils out at age 8 or 9, I think. I recall waking up confused and scared in the recovery room, and screaming my little head off for a good five minutes before I realized that screaming hurt. A *lot*. And later... that ice cream that they tell you that you'll be given? It was terrible.

That was my last hospital stay. I imagine there will be others in my future. I hope the ice cream will have improved by then.

I had mine out at 15...I didn't like the ice cream thing either. It was too cold. I ate an entire Costco case of Otter Pops in a week instead.

Oh, poor kid!! Kisses!

You mean those little ice cream cups they give you? I love those. I ate a ton when I had Mel. David figured out where they kept them and brought a bunch to my room. I think we took some more on our way out, too.
