Arrgh! Screen crash and lost my last entry just as I was about to hit post!

This one will be short and sweet due to that.

143. Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
Awesome almost YA story. Container story follows the adventure of a young girl seeking the Old man in the Moon. Every subsequent character tells his own story/fable. I liked it so much I may buy a copy. Took an hour and a half to read.

144. The Night Fairy by Laura Amy Schlitz
Just beyond a chapter book. Got a fairy lovin' kid? This is a great one for them. Cute story. Took a half an hour to read

145. the True Gift: A christmas Story by Patricia MacLachlan
Chapter book exploring the meaning of a true christmas gift. Cute. Took less than a half hour to read

146. Mark Twain's Book for Bad Boys and Girls edited by R. Kent Rasmussen
First Twain I've ever read. Must find more now.

147. Working with Anxious, Nervous and Depressed Children: a spiritual perspective to guide parents by Henning Kohler
Once described as an awesome book with an unfortunate title. And I seriously agree. Was recommended by another Waldorf Mama as really good for parents with a kid on the spectrum. Four lectures discuss how deficiencies in various senses (Life, Touch, Motion, Balance) can manifest as anxiety, nervousness and depression in children. Also discusses how to compensate and either build up those senses that need it or soothing methods for those that are too stimulated. Awesome.

148. Quillworker: A Cheyenne Legend by Terri Cohlene
149. Clamshell boy: A Makah legend by Terri Cohlene
A couple of picture books with great illustrations of Native American stories. After the story there is a section about that particular tribe. Nice!

On my last post sapphyres  pointed out that I wasn't reading anything fun. Well I got a few in this time. =) And her comment prompted me to find out that there is another Honor Harrington available at the library (yea!) and that Bujold is finally releasing another Miles book in November. YEA!!!

I love Twain. He so often has that effect on adult readers who find him. :)

and kids who've only read 'tom sawyer' and 'huckleberry finn' and then discover his other stuff later on :) 'life on the mississippi' is my favourite, though even good old tom sawyer and huck finn can still crack me up.
